Job summary

CARFAX is seeking a Manager – Software Engineering to lead the Product Engineering Team in Columbia, MO. You will guide high-performing engineering squads, align SDLC practices with business goals, and partner with product, project management, UX, and operations to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience leading software engineering teams using Agile methodology.
• Technical leadership, programming and architectural proficiency, delivering complex solutions.
• Background in building/designing scalable enterprise software.
• Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, software design patterns & architecture, operations, and software engineering.
• Proven track record of cross-functional project delivery.
• Strong communication skills with ability to move between engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills in a complex matrixed environment.
• Experience with Product and Production support.
• Strong team player.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Build high-performing teams by providing clear goals and continuous feedback.
• Improve team and individual performance.
• Establish clear goals and objectives that align with Department Game Plans.
• Provide continuous feedback to engineers through regular 1-on-1 meetings.
• Coach teams to practice SDLC methodologies.
• Collaborate effectively with other technology teams, product managers, project managers, and UX team members.
• Work with non-technical stakeholders to analyze requirements and understand constraints, dependencies, and business needs.
• Define development guidelines and standards to be utilized in application development and integration.
• Manage and appropriately elevate delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes tied to the engineering initiatives to the stakeholders.
