Stripe’s Abuse Control Engineering (ACE) leads rapid-response defense and incubates controls until ready for product ownership. You will guide the team’s technical strategy, hire and mentor engineers, and partner with security and product teams to design safeguards that reduce risk while preserving legitimate user experience.

The role emphasizes incubation practice, clear ownership handoffs, and cross‑functional execution across Stripe’s global teams, with hybrid/remote work options in the US.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an engineering team and delivering for multiple stakeholders.
• Technical background in software/security engineering or anti-abuse.
• Experience hiring, coaching and developing engineers at different levels.
• Ability to drive cross-functional work across teams with different goals.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the team’s technical strategy and priorities.
• Hire, coach, and support engineers; set clear expectations and feedback.
• Guide attacker evidence into actionable abuse requirements and control designs.
