Job description

Join VTS as an Engineering Manager. As a technical leader, you’ll drive high‑impact, customer‑facing projects across major web and mobile features while advancing VTS’s evolution into an AI‑powered platform.

This role is located in New York, NY and requires working from the office four days a week.

Responsibilities

• Foster a healthy, collaborative, and diverse culture that reflects VTS’s engineering values.
• Coach and mentor individual team members, establishing structured career development and feedback loops.
• Partner with recruiting to source, recruit, and onboard talent.
• Jointly own the team’s execution and delivery of the product roadmap with the Product Manager, especially for systems that power critical customer workflows and third‑party integrations.
• Run an agile engineering process that empowers engineers with context and autonomy to ship high‑quality products efficiently.
• Collaborate across cross‑functional teams, including product managers, designers, QA, and partner teams.
• Coach, challenge, and lead the team through complex technical problems.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify and prioritize strategic technology investments aligned with business goals.
• Spend part of your time on system design and code reviews, providing architectural oversight.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading software teams using agile development methodologies.
• Strong technical background with a track record of building, deploying, and maintaining scalable web applications, services, and third‑party integrations.
• Experience in high‑impact, business‑critical domains where reliability, performance, and operational stability are essential.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop talent, strengthening team capabilities through effective coaching and mentorship.
• Ability to engage in strategic technical discussions, manage tradeoffs and risks, and ensure alignment with product and business goals, especially in multi‑system and external‑partner environments.
• Empathy for the customer and relentless focus on shipping high‑quality products.
• Excellent communication skills to convey ideas, coach, mentor, and educate others.
• Keen interest in building AI‑backed features and leveraging AI as an engineering productivity tool.

Pay Transparency

Base salary is market‑driven and ranges between $170,000 and $210,000, based on skills, experience, interview quality, leveling, and geography.
