Job summary

Zentis Group in Plymouth, Indiana, invites an experienced Engineering Leader to manage and execute capital projects within a manufacturing environment. This on-site role leads engineering teams to drive production efficiency, safety, and quality across cross-functional teams, including our Central Engineering in Germany.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing/food/industrial environments.
• Experience leading engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record managing capital projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience driving process improvements and data-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead Engineering team members in technical excellence and production best practices.
• Lead Engineering projects from concept to implementation, ensuring safety, timeliness and budget adherence.
• Establish project priorities and allocate resources to support business objectives.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams in Production, Quality, Maintenance, IT and with Central Engineering in Germany.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance safety, productivity and quality.
• Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, root-cause solving and sustainable solutions.
• Support equipment upgrades, expansions and facility improvements, and collaborate with Central Engineering on strategic initiatives and equipment installations.
• Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.

Job description

Zentis is Europe's number one fruit processing company and one of the leading brand manufacturers of jams, sweets, and custard-based desserts. The Company's North America operations are located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Plymouth, Indiana, where we produce fruit and dairy preparations for a variety of customers including yogurt, ice cream and bakery manufacturers. This role will be located on-site in Plymouth, Indiana.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead Engineering team members in technical excellence and production best practices.
• Promote a culture of innovation, safety, continuous improvement.

Project Management

• Lead Engineering projects from concept to implementation.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Establish project priorities and allocate resources to support business objectives.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams in Production, Quality, Maintenance, and IT as well as with the Central Engineering team headquartered in Germany.

Engineering Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance safety, productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Build and strengthen engineering processes, standards, and best practices across the site.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts through data analysis, root cause problem solving, and implementation of sustainable solutions.

Production Support & Optimization

• Support equipment upgrades, expansions, facility improvements, and new technology implementation.
• Collaborate with Central Engineering and global stakeholders on strategic initiatives and equipment installations.
• Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.

Formal Education Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Specific Experience and Key Knowledge Requirements:

• 5+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing, industrial, food production, consumer products, pharmaceutical, or similar environment.
• Prior experience leading, mentoring, or managing engineers and technical teams.
• Proven success managing capital projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience driving operational improvements and solving complex technical challenges
