Job summary

Stellarus is seeking a Sr. Manager, Engineering to lead an engineering organization delivering secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions.

You will align priorities across Product, Architecture, Security, Platform and Infrastructure with senior leadership to drive outcomes that support Stellarus' mission. You will define roadmaps, establish governance and KPIs, grow high-performing teams, and guide senior engineers through complex delivery, architecture, reliability, and modernization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 4 years relevant experience.
• 8 years of progressive technology experience in software/ platform/ infra engineering.
• 4 years of prior people management experience.
• Experience leading multiple teams, platforms, products, or technology domains with accountability for delivery.
• Strong knowledge of modern software engineering, cloud architecture, DevOps, SRE, automation, AI enablement.
• Demonstrated ability to shape engineering practices and drive adoption of CI/CD, observability, and scalable architecture.
• Experience modernizing enterprise platforms, reducing technical debt, and maintaining secure technologies.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and interact with all management levels.
• Experience with budget management, vendor management, contracts, and roadmaps.
• Strong communication skills for senior and cross-functional audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead an engineering team delivering secure, scalable, reliable technology solutions.
• Define and execute roadmaps, delivery priorities, operational plans, and team objectives.
• Establish operating models, governance, KPIs, dashboards, SLAs/SLOs, and executive reporting.
• Build, grow, and sustain high-performing engineering organizations through hiring, coaching, and succession planning.
• Guide senior technical talent in resolving complex delivery, architecture, reliability, security, and scalability issues.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Platform, Infrastructure, and vendors to align priorities and drive execution.
• Drive modernization, debt reduction, reliability improvements, automation, and AI adoption.
• Ensure secure development, CI/CD, cloud-native architecture, observability, and maintainability.
• Own delivery status across multiple workstreams with transparent risk reporting.
• Manage budgets, vendor relationships, licensing, contracts, and technology roadmaps.
• Influence strategic decisions and communicate tradeoffs to leadership.
• Foster accountability, collaboration, engineering excellence, and continuous learning.
