Job summary

Good co India is seeking a Senior Software Engineering leader to drive strategy, architecture, and delivery of scalable platforms in a cloud-first environment. You will mentor multiple engineering teams, align with product, design, data, and security, and own roadmaps, quality, and release processes.

You will collaborate across business units to translate objectives into technical plans, manage debt and risks, and foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of software engineering experience with leadership of teams or large programs.
• Proven experience managing engineers, tech leads, or managers in product-driven orgs.
• Hands-on system design, distributed systems, and scalable architectures.
• Strong knowledge of modern tech such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with microservices, APIs, cloud platforms, containers, and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, and DevOps practices.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum, release management, and quality engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple software engineering teams responsible for scalable products.
• Define engineering strategy, roadmaps, architecture standards, and long-term direction.
• Translate business objectives into engineering plans, priorities, and milestones.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, Security, and SRE to drive outcomes.
• Own engineering delivery with emphasis on quality, reliability, security, and performance.
• Drive architecture decisions for cloud-native, distributed systems.
• Improve processes, coding standards, testing, and release practices.
• Manage technical debt, risks, and scaling constraints.
• Build and structure the engineering org with hiring, mentoring, and succession plans.
• Communicate strategy, risks, and progress to senior leadership.
• Foster ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
