Job summary

Grifols in Clayton, NC, seeks a seasoned engineering manager to lead the East Coast Applied Process group within the capital projects department. You will steer design, procurement and commissioning of process equipment to meet global process requirements across Clayton, Montreal and Los Angeles sites.

The role requires 10+ years in engineering with biotech/chemical exposure, strong project leadership, and hands-on fabrication/installation experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Professional registration and/or certifications as appropriate.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience; 15+ years preferred.
• Biotech or Chemical industry experience preferred.
• Leadership experience in technical and/or people management roles.
• Experience with plasma or protein processing.
• Experience with hygienic welding of stainless steel.
• Experience in fabrication, mechanics or hands-on technical work.
• Experience CAD software: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, REVIT, Plant 3D.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for process equipment procurement.
• Oversee design, budget, procurement, FAT, commissioning plans for equipment.
• Prepare bid requests and evaluate proposals; oversee contractors during construction/installation.
• Manage fabrication shop resources (skids designers and welders) and oversee FAT/TOPs.
• Ensure safety, OSHA, regulatory and environmental compliance of projects.
• Prepare schedules and report progress using Jira and MS Project.
• Collaborate across interdepartmental and international teams.
• Recruit, train, evaluate and develop engineering staff.
• Support professional development and licensing opportunities.
