Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is hiring an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Leader at Whitehall Casting Operation. You will lead focused projects to improve throughput, reduce inventory and expenses, and drive labor-cost reductions through cellular manufacturing and new methods.

You will mentor engineering staff, coordinate with engine manufacturers and facility teams, and manage NPI initiatives to meet schedules and budgets while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to achieve product yield improvements, variation reduction, and cost reduction goals in ceramic cores/parts.
• Direct and manage activities regarding product tool/part designs and standards.
• Manage NPI initiatives ensuring product development on schedule and budget.
• Develop the plant scrap reduction plan and drive target achievement.
• Direct cost/product improvements and production problem solving activities.
• Foster engineering team communication with Plant and facility managers.
• Collaborate with engine manufacturers and casting facilities to optimize design and producibility.
• Create an engaging environment and develop engineering staff.
• Guide training development strategies for the engineering staff.
