Job summary

Hotel Bardo Savannah, operated by Left Lane Hospitality Group, seeks an Assistant Director of Engineering to lead engineering and life-safety operations for a luxury, full‑service hotel. Reporting to the Area Director of Engineering, you will oversee preventive maintenance, building systems, budgeting, and project coordination, while developing a high‑performing team across Savannah properties.

The role requires at least five years in engineering/maintenance and two years of supervisory

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive engineering/maintenance experience in a full-service hotel or resort.
• 2+ years leading or supervising hotel engineering/maintenance teams.
• Experience in senior engineering leadership roles (Engineering Manager/Lead Engineer preferred).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, building automation, life-safety, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering, maintenance, facilities, and life-safety ops for a luxury hotel.
• Supervise and develop engineering team; enforce accountability and quality.
• Oversee preventive maintenance for guestrooms, public spaces, kitchens, pools, and back‑of‑house facilities.
• Support HVAC, plumbing, electrical, building automation, and critical hotel systems.
• Prioritize work orders and respond to guest-impacting issues and emergencies.
• Maintain records, logs, permits, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with Rooms, Housekeeping, F&B, Security, and leadership for seamless operations.
• Assist with budgeting, purchasing, inventory, vendor management, and contracts.
• Coordinate contractors and capital projects, renovations, and asset replacements.
• Strengthen SOPs, maintenance standards, safety practices, and process management.
• Work with Area Director of Engineering and other leaders across Savannah properties.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety requirements, and company standards.
