Job summary

QISG, a Quanta company, seeks an Associate Principal Engineer to lead design and technical guidance across HVAC, plumbing and fire protection disciplines. This role represents engineering in client and project-team meetings and manages a small engineering group, ensuring staffing, development and performance standards are met.

You will drive conceptual design, review complex layouts for estimating, and stay current with industry codes and best practices while maintaining high-quality engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 12+ years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in people management.
• Expert knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and related mechanical systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication with clients and staff.
• Leadership and development experience of engineering teams.
• Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
• Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools and Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide design guidance across departments and disciplines while upholding engineering standards.
• Stay current with industry trends, codes, and best practices and disseminate knowledge to the team.
• Own conceptual design direction and review complex preliminary layouts for estimating.
• Perform or review advanced engineering calculations for HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and fire protection systems.
• Conduct site inspections to verify construction document compliance and resolve design issues.
• Represent engineering as SME in client and project team meetings.
• Lead achievement of project engineering goals and management of a small team of engineers.
