Job summary

LegitScript is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead our software organization in the United States. You will own the integrity of commitments, guide architecture decisions, and partner with product to ensure LegitScript ships high-quality software.

This is a senior technical leadership role where your influence comes from managers and engineers you develop rather than writing code yourself. You will drive reliability, observability, and incident response while reducing maintenance

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, including 4+ years leading engineers or senior technical leaders.
• Experience delivering complex B2B software, ideally in SaaS, fintech, regtech, or trust and safety domains.
• Experience owning delivery across multiple teams, including capacity planning and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery across your squads, including capacity planning and forecasting.
• Stand behind engineering feasibility, approach, and cost for co-signed bets.
• Sequence technical work, surface delivery risk early, and turn slipping commitments into decisions.
• Set and hold standards for engineering quality: design, code review, testing, and documentation.
• Own reliability, monitoring, and incident response for services your squads run.
• Partner with staff engineers on architecture direction and ensure squads build on a shared platform.
• Reduce operational toil through automation and replatforming, making debt visible for funding.
• Lead, coach, and grow engineering managers, owning hiring, performance, and career development.
• Develop tech leads and senior engineers, building a strong technical bench in each squad.
• Define and track engineering health metrics like delivery predictability and cycle time.
• Report progress, risk, and trade-offs to leadership with clarity.
