Job summary

AHEAD is looking for an experienced, people-focused engineering leader to head Hatch and Unity, overseeing a team that builds real products with AI-driven tooling. You’ll guide architecture, remove blockers, and partner with product and business leaders to deliver value across cloud, data, AI, and security.

You’ll manage health, growth, and performance of the team, hire and mentor engineers, and shape processes to ship high-quality software on time.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with 2+ years in management or team lead roles.
• Experience leading teams building web applications, ideally in Elixir/Phoenix or similar stacks.
• Strong practices in testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and Agile methodologies.
• Fluency with modern AI development tools and a view on their impact on teams.
• Proven ability to hire, develop, and retain engineering talent focusing on judgment and product sense.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team building Hatch and Unity platforms.
• Partner with product management and stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable plans.
• Own delivery timelines and ensure high-quality software ships on schedule.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and career development for engineers.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable engineering culture with continuous improvement.
• Guide architectural discussions and AI workflow standardization.
• Remove obstacles and shield the team from distractions to maintain focus.
• Balance agile processes with predictability in development and AI-assisted workflows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, customer success, and other teams.
