As a senior payments engineer lead, you will steer backend APIs, drive architectural decisions, and build robust transaction flows while mentoring the engineering team and partnering with product and finance to deliver high‑impact features at scale.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10 years total with at least 3 in lead/management.
• Domain: payments, e‑commerce, billing systems, or checkout flows.
• Technical: backend & API design; web/full‑stack; Go and TypeScript.
• System: databases, caching, queues; cloud native (AWS/GCP).
• Leadership: proactive, ownership, strong communication with senior teams.
• Nice‑to‑Have: subscription billing platforms and financial ledger knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Leadership: set technical direction for backend APIs and checkout experiences.
• Strategic Execution: align payments with future product needs and scale robustness.
• Team Growth & Mentorship: mentor engineers, lead code reviews, performance reviews.
• Hands‑on Development: build and maintain managed payments platform and services.
• Collaboration: partner with product, finance, and support to resolve payment issues.
• Integrations & Compliance: oversee third‑party gateways and data security standards.
