Job summary

Langham Boston is seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to protect hotel assets and ensure life safety and operational integrity. You will manage daily engineering activities, lead the team, and coordinate with vendors to maintain that the property runs smoothly for guests and colleagues.

The role requires a 2nd Class Steam Fireman license or higher, strong English communication, and the ability to work on-site in Boston.

Qualifications

• 2nd Class Steam Fireman License or higher required.
• Minimum 2 years hotel facility management experience.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Proficient with computers including emails, spreadsheets and BMS.
• Knowledge of HVAC, motors, and pumps; basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Master the life safety systems and emergency response procedures.
• On-call support to respond to off-hours emergencies.
• Oversee Engineering in the absence of the Director of Facilities.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs for plant equipment, guest rooms, and public areas.
• Lead daily line-ups and delegate daily work plans for maintenance tasks.
• Monitor plant systems via Building Management System and take corrective actions.
• Review invoices and assist with budget adherence.
• Direct, coordinate, and oversee outside subcontractors as needed.
• Assist with recruitment and training of new staff members.
• Ensure safety procedures and training are followed across the department.
