Job summary

The Langham, Boston is seeking an Assistant Director of Engineering to oversee the operation and life safety of the building. This role supervises the Engineering department staff and ensures the property is in optimum condition for our guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities include leading daily line-ups, developing preventive maintenance programs, and managing the Building Management System. A strong background in HVAC systems, blueprints, and safety compliance is essential for success in

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Ability to use computers including emails, spreadsheets, and building management systems.
• Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, motors, fans, and pumps.
• Working knowledge of hand and power tools used in boiler room equipment maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and life safety of the building and supervise Engineering staff.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for plant equipment and public areas.
• Lead daily line-ups and coordinate daily work plans for engineering staff.
• Monitor Building Management System and address abnormalities.
• Coordinate with outside sub-contractors and ensure timely repairs and compliance.
