Job summary

IRIS Software Group in Philadelphia is seeking a hands-on engineering leader to guide a single autonomous team delivering document capture, storage, workflow and retrieval capabilities embedded in our accountancy product suite. You will balance delivery, architecture, security and people management across a small, capable team.

The role combines quarterly OKRs with architecture ownership, AI tooling adoption, and a focus on security and quality under delivery pressure.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering
• Experience leading delivery in Agile environments
• Experience modernising established codebases
• Effective collaboration across distributed teams

Responsibilities

• Delivery Management: plan and deliver against quarterly OKRs
• Own architecture and technical decisions for document ingestion, storage, retrieval
• Set security standards for sensitive data
• Improve quality via automated tests, CI/CD and observability
• Manage technical debt with a funded plan
• Adopt AI tooling responsibly within engineering workflow
• Line manage engineers and support career development
• Maintain team health and engagement
