Job summary

Allstate Insurance Co. is seeking a Managing Engineer (C#/ASP.NET) to lead a team of engineers, contribute code, and guide design and delivery of enterprise applications using C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using ASP.NET and C#.
1 year or more of experience leading or managing software engineers.
Experience actively designing, developing, and supporting production software applications.
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and complex T-SQL development.
Experience with front-end technologies such as Vue.js, React, or Angular.
Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design.
Experience with Git, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Experience working within Agile development environments.
Excellent communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers.
Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, and related technologies.
Contribute production-ready code and actively participate in feature development and system enhancements.
Review code and provide technical guidance to engineering team members.
Participate in iteration planning, backlog refinement, and Agile ceremonies.
Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Lead technical design discussions and architectural decision-making.
Ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
Establish and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
Support production applications, troubleshoot issues, and lead root cause analysis activities.
Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and Data teams to align solutions with enterprise standards.
Promote engineering best practices, test automation, code quality, and continuous improvement.
Monitor delivery commitments, operational metrics, and team performance.
Foster knowledge sharing, talent development, and technical growth across the team.
