8090 Solutions is hiring an Engineering Lead to drive the technical direction and execution of the Software Factory agent. This builder-leader role keeps you hands-on in code while guiding the team to deliver dependable customer experiences.

Based in Redwood City, CA, you will own agent architecture across multi-agent orchestration and RAG, mentor engineers, and focus on production performance, latency, and cost.

Qualifications

• Production agents with sustained, high-volume usage and measurable customer impact.
• Deep expertise in LLM-based agent systems: orchestration, context engineering, tool integration, memory, model selection and evaluation.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to build, debug, and operate complex production systems.
• Leadership and mentorship shown to improve other engineers’ work; clear communication with product partners.

Responsibilities

• Own agent architecture across multi-agent orchestration, agent harnesses, prompt and context design, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), memory, tools, and execution environments. Lead architecture reviews and tradeoffs on capability, complexity, latency, and cost.
• Translate the roadmap into technical plans, milestones, dependencies; prioritize high-impact work and remove blockers.
• Hands-on coding, lead code reviews, and solve difficult technical problems with engineers; build capabilities for interacting with browsers and environments.
• Develop engineers’ technical judgment, recruit exceptional talent, and establish effective planning and review practices.
• Improve production observability, recovery, latency, cost, and customer feedback integration; make progress visible to leadership.
• Partner with security and infrastructure on permissions, sandboxing, data boundaries, and production deployments.
