Mindlance is seeking an Engineering Technician for a 12-month contract in Sunnyvale, CA. The role focuses on test equipment setup, tear down, maintenance, data collection, and logistics to support engineering service requests.

Experience with customers and managing interactions is essential, along with strong troubleshooting, attention to detail, and organized multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate or Bachelor's degree in a tech field or 4+ years in a lab/customer service in data center/field service.
• Ability to read schematics and test equipment connections.
• Basic Unix/Windows and Networking understanding is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Set up, tear down, maintain test boards and equipment.
• Collect data for lab metrics and maintain lab standards.
• Deploy test boards for automated tests and troubleshoot issues.
• Manage test procedures as engineers request and update wiring/documentation.
• Perform calibration, inventory, and maintenance routines on equipment.
• Read schematics and BOMs to configure electro-mechanical installations.
• Communicate findings and potential document changes to improve wiring and builds.

Job Description Summary:

We seek an engineering technician responsible for test equipment setup, tear down, maintenance, data collection, and logistics.

The customer service technician ensures the engineering service request operates reliably and satisfies the customer's end-use requirements.

Experience working with customers and managing the interaction is essential.

• Respond promptly to customer inquiries and acknowledge and resolve customer issues.

• Understanding basic electronics and knowledge of lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, DMM, signal generator, signal analyzer) is helpful.
• Basic understanding of MS Office, PDFs, and the ability to read basic schematic, BOM, and documentation. Description: Responsibilities might include some of the following:

• Responsible for test board and equipment setup, tear down, maintenance, data collection, and logistics.
• Responsibilities will also include maintaining lab standards to keep them safe, clean, and organized.
• Deploy test boards that run automated tests from engineering and troubleshoot issued requests that potentially have test setup issues.
• Remove and redeploy test board setups that need new test procedures from engineers' requests in a regular cadence.
• Collect data for critical metrics for the lab and track progress.
• Perform test equipment inventory, calibration, and maintenance routine.
• Understand and configure electro-mechanical component installations using BOM, drawings, and schematics.
• Perform electro-mechanical repair, troubleshoot wiring, and test modified semi-complex assemblies without supervision on standard projects.
• Communicate effectively and recommend changes on the document where applicable to actual wiring and mechanical build of assembly.
• Perform self-inspection according to the Manufacturing and or internal procedure checklist.
• Identify problems, document them, and bring them to the supervisor's attention.
• Check equipment for calibration status expired materials, and follow all ESD and other general housekeeping procedures.
• Detail oriented. Must read and follow written instructions, schematics, and diagrams correctly.
• Demonstrate proficiency in English - reading, writing, and verbal communication.

Requirements:

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a Tech-related Major or 4+ years of equivalent experience in a Lab or customer service in a data center environment or field service technician.
• The ability to read schematics and set up various cable connectivity types to test equipment and DUT is a plus.
• Basic user-level understanding of Unix/Windows and Networking with Enterprise Switches and Routers is a plus.
• Ability to solder and rework PCBA components SMT, Through holes, wires, terminal and fine pitch parts.
• General test instrumentation hardware and software knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with environmental chamber operation and support.
• The ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs of equipment set up on the bench.
