Utah Tech University in St. George, UT seeks an Instructor of the Practice in Engineering Labs for Spring 2027.

The role focuses on teaching lab and lecture courses, maintaining lab facilities, and guiding student prototyping across UTXplore and capstone projects. The ideal candidate will hold an MS in engineering or related field, bring industry experience, and demonstrate strong teaching and collaboration skills within a polytechnic setting.

Qualifications

• MS in an engineering discipline or related field is required; candidates with a B.S. in engineering and relevant work experience will be considered.
• Relevant industry experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with equipment such as machining, controllers, or electronic testing equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach 30 credits of laboratory and/or lecture courses in the Engineering Department each academic year.
• Maintain labs and lab equipment within the Engineering Department.
• Ensure engineering labs comply with university, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Provide prototyping guidance to students in UTXplore, capstone, design practicum, and research projects.
• Attend department, college, and division faculty meetings; assist in program management and follow university policy.
