Job summary

Caterpillar Lafayette Large Engine Center is seeking students for a summer internship starting May 2027, full-time 40 hours/week, then part-time during the academic year. Interns work with manufacturing and supply chain professionals to gain real-world experience in diverse engineering roles.

Interns will build technical abilities in Manufacturing, Facilities, Operations, Quality, and Planning, with mentoring, demonstrations, and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0 (no rounding) at current institution.
• Must have completed 30 semester hours prior to start of internship.
• If a transfer student, must have 12 semester hours completed at a 4-year university.
• Graduation date must be May 2027 and beyond.
• Must be able to commute daily to the Lafayette Large Engine Center.
• Leadership involvement in campus organizations or extracurricular activities.

Responsibilities

• Join a team with diverse project responsibilities and gain networking opportunities with Caterpillar employees.
• Focus on building technical abilities in roles including Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning.
• Work alongside manufacturing and supply chain professionals for relevant experience.
