Job summary

Gilbarco Veeder-Root offers an internship in Greensboro, NC where you will assist in designing and executing test plans for products and subsystems. You will develop automated test scripts in Python, set up lab equipment, collect and analyze data, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and QA teams to drive root-cause analysis.

The role includes presenting final project results and recommendations at internship end.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Familiar with engineering test methods, data analysis, Python programming, and basic statistics.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, development, and execution of test plans for products, subsystems, and test fixtures.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts and data-collection tools using Python or similar tools.
• Set up lab equipment and instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, DAQ systems, environmental chambers, and other test equipment.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize test data to identify trends, verify requirements, and support engineering decisions.
• Troubleshoot test failures and work with Test, Design, Manufacturing, and QA/Reliability teams to support root-cause analysis.
• Document test procedures, results, lessons learned, and recommendations for improving test coverage, repeatability, and efficiency.
• Present a final report-out summarizing the project, results, and recommended next steps at the end of the internship.

WHO YOU ARE

• Current student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
• Familiarity with engineering test methods, data analysis, Python programming, and basic statistics.

Hourly rates are as follows:

• Sophomore:$23/hour
• Junior: $24/hour
• Senior: $27/hour
• Master's: $27/hour

Interns are eligible for company-paid holidays and one scheduled paid volunteer day. Interns are not eligible for vacation benefits, 401(k), medical or dental coverage, scholarships, or tuition reimbursement.
