Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, offers a hybrid internship in Greensboro, NC, focusing on digital transformation, AI agent development, and process standardization within engineering.

You will partner with global teams, gather feedback, and present results at internship close.

Formación

• Current student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, software, or industrial engineering preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies, work independently, manage priorities, and translate user needs into practical solutions.

• Support Digital Transformation strategy by analyzing current engineering workflows and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Develop and pilot AI agents to support hardware development and standardize design processes.
• Create and refine standard work, process docs, and training materials.
• Collaborate with global Engineering, Reliability, Program Management, and cross-functional teams.
• Present project outcomes, lessons learned, and next steps at internship end.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Support the Digital Transformation strategy by analyzing current engineering workflows and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality.
• Develop and pilot AI agents that support hardware development and global design process standardization. Gather user feedback, measure results, and recommend improvements.
• Create and refine standard work, process documentation, and supporting training materials.
• Collaborate with global Engineering, Reliability, Program Management, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Present project outcomes, lessons learned, and recommended next steps at the end of the internship.

WHO YOU ARE

• Current student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, software, or industrial engineering preferred)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies, work independently, manage priorities, and translate user needs into practical solutions.

Preferred and Nice to have

• Preferred: Experience with generative AI, prompt engineering, Python, APIs, Microsoft Copilot, or agent-development platforms.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with product development processes, requirements management, CAD/PLM tools, design reviews, verification, or engineering documentation.

Location and Work Arrangement

Available for a hybrid assignment based in Greensboro, NC, with in-office attendance determined by project and collaboration needs and remote work permitted on some days.

Hourly rates are as follows

• Sophomore:$23/hour
• Junior: $24/hour
• Senior: $27/hour
• Master's: $27/hour

Interns are eligible for company-paid holidays and one scheduled paid volunteer day. Interns are not eligible for vacation benefits, 401(k), medical or dental coverage, scholarships, or tuition reimbursement.
