Job summary

Gilbarco Veeder-Root, powered by Vontier, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support the design, development, testing, and improvement of mechanical and electro-mechanical products used in retail and commercial fueling operations.

In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers on a variety of initiatives, including enhancements to existing product lines, cost savings projects, manufacturing support, and new product development.

Qualifications

• Current student in a related bachelor’s program (Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electro-Mechanical).
• Experience in CAD programs, ideally both 2D and 3D, preference for Creo and AutoCAD.
• Hands on testing and/or fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support for a variety of mechanical and electro-mechanical products, including existing product improvements, cost savings initiatives, and new product development projects.
• Support the development and refinement of product concepts by creating design models, evaluating alternatives, and collaborating with engineering team members.
• Create and update detailed engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation using CAD tools.
• Assist with product design activities using 2D and 3D CAD programs, with preference for Creo and AutoCAD.
• Develop and support test plans to evaluate product performance, durability, quality, and reliability.
• Perform data review, analysis, and documentation to support engineering decisions and product improvements.
• Support lab and field testing activities as needed, including test setup, execution, troubleshooting, and results review.
• Work with manufacturing and factory teams to support existing products, resolve production issues, and assist with the introduction of new or updated products.
• Participate in hands-on testing, prototyping, and fabrication activities to validate designs and support engineering projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations, to drive project execution and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a current Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering student to gain hands-on experience in product design, CAD modeling, engineering documentation, testing, and cross-functional collaboration in a global technology organization.
