Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC invites engineering students to join its Summer Internship and Co-Op program in Kent, WA. Interns participate in hands-on projects, receive mentorship, and present progress in a senior leadership expo, with opportunities for future full-time employment.

Programs run May 17th to Aug 6th, offering practical experience aligned with coursework and a pathway to full-time roles after graduation.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing an Engineering degree.
• Reliable transportation to and from Kent, WA.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research, analyze data, and present findings for engineering projects.
• Assist with design, development, and testing of equipment and systems.
• Support data collection for root cause investigations and quality initiatives.
• Assist in updating engineering documentation and procedures.
• Use CAD to create or revise drawings or models for projects.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on project progress.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success.
• Perform other engineering duties as assigned.
