Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory invites undergraduates or recent graduates to engage in hands-on engineering internships in the DTED division. You will work onsite full time for 10–12 weeks, supporting research, conceptual design, diagnostics, and core product development under a mentor.

Open to mechanical or electronics tech tracks, with emphasis on teamwork, data gathering, and communicating results. Eligibility includes enrollment or recent graduation and NDAA/DOE access requirements.

Qualifications

• Eligible to access LLNL under NDAA section 3112.
• Continuing college student in good academic standing.
• Able to work full-time for 10-12 weeks in summer.
• Strong academic record and teamwork mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical assignments with mentor guidance.
• Provide technical support to engineers on R&D projects.
• Participate in research under supervision.
• Use standard software to complete tasks in discipline.
• Gather and analyze data, document results, and communicate findings.
• Share technical information and engage in open dialogue.
• Attend seminars and facility tours, interacting with students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
