Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc is offering an Applications Engineering Intern position within the Data Center Solutions Business Unit. You will assist the Applications team in developing tools and demos, board bring-up, debugging, and lab analysis to diagnose customer system issues.

The role requires hands-on lab work, independent and team-based collaboration, and effective communication to produce customer collateral and support.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in BS or MS Electrical/Computer/CS program.
• Basic understanding of computer architecture.
• Programming experience in C, C++, TCL/Tk, Python or Java.
• Good troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Good writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up lab equipment including OS installation, drivers, tools, debuggers.
• Bring-up and debug customer evaluation boards.
• Develop and maintain customer collaterals, custom firmware and diagnostic tools.
• Recreate, collect, analyze, debug and root cause customer problems in a lab environment.
• Develop and provide product training to customers and internal teams.
• Demonstrate new product features at industry events and trade shows.
• Perform performance and power measurement and analysis.
