Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is offering a product application engineering internship focused on the mixed signal IC product line. You will support customer design-in activities, answer technical questions, review schematics and layouts, and help debug customer boards.

You will develop technical collateral such as datasheets, reference designs, user guides, application notes, and go-to-market materials. Collaboration with product marketing, management, and design teams is key.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or Electrical and Computer Engineering.
• Prefer academic experience in power electronics.
• Familiar with MOSFETs, BJTs, diodes.
• Lab experience with digital oscilloscopes, function generators, curve tracers, and network analyzers.
• Experience with schematic capture, circuit simulation, and PCB layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Support customer design-in activities including answering customer technical questions, schematic & layout reviews, and customer board debug.
• Develop technical collateral including product datasheets, reference designs, user guides, application notes, etc.
• Perform bench characterization for new products.
• Create go-to-market technical collateral including evaluation boards, reference design schematics, application notes and design tools for new products.
• Work cross-functionally with product marketing, product management, and chip design teams in supporting customers.
• Support product marketing and management to collect product and application requirements in the related area, by communicating with customers and internal teams.
