Job summary

Chippewa County seeks an Engineer Intern for the Department of Land Conservation & Forest Management. The seasonal, non-recurring position entails up to 40 hours/week May–November 2027 for a total of 975 hours, focusing on conservation design, hydrology, and urban storm water management.

CAD, surveying, and construction inspection are emphasize areas. Applicants should be enrolled in or recent graduates of Civil/Environmental/related engineering programs; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must be enrolled in or a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Biosystems/Biological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge or experience in surveying (GPS), construction techniques and materials, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Focus includes conservation practice design and implementation, hydrology, and urban storm water management.
  • Specific emphasis in design and CAD, survey, construction inspection, and engineering review.
