Job summary

Chippewa County is seeking a Seasonal Land & Water Resource Technician for the Lake Wissota Stewardship Project within the Department of Land Conservation & Forest Management.

This role is seasonal and limited term, requiring up to 40 hours per week from May 2026 through November 2027 (975 hours total). It welcomes students or recent graduates with a Bachelor’s in Natural Resources and emphasizes ArcPro experience and agricultural outreach.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources with an emphasis in Physical Earth Science, Water Resource Management, or another related course of study.
  • Experience with ArcPro or similar software preferred.
  • Knowledge of informational and educational outreach in an agricultural setting preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Focus includes information and education outreach to watershed landowners.
  • Work with the Lake Wissota Improvement and Protection Association and watershed landowners.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 2027 LAND & WATER RESOURCE TECHNICIAN (LAKE WISSOTA STEWARDSHIP PROJECT) LAND CONSERVATION & FOREST MANAGEMENT (LCFM)

Chippewa County is accepting applications for a Land & Water Resource Technician for the Lake Wissota Stewardship Project within the Department of Land Conservation & Forest Management. This can be a student or a recent graduate.

This position is seasonal, non-recurring, and limited term which requires up to 40 hours per week from May 2026 - November 2027 for a commitment of 975 hours. Focus includes information and education outreach, working with the Lake Wissota Improvement and Protection Association and watershed landowners.

***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate with a Bachelor\'s degree in Natural Resources with an emphasis in Physical Earth Science, Water Resource Management, or another related course of study.
