Job summary

Compeer Financial invites applications for an Engineering Intern role. This paid internship supports students through Summer 2027, with work locations in Sun Prairie, WI or Bloomington, IL.

You’ll join a cross-functional product team to design, develop, test, and deploy modern cloud-native solutions under experienced engineer guidance. You’ll gain hands-on experience in software delivery, CI/CD, observability, and AI-enabled tooling while aligning work with business value and client needs.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in a technical field (CS/SE/CE/IT).
• Completion of coursework in programming, algorithms, data structures or related subjects.
• Experience developing software via coursework, personal projects or open-source work.
• Proven learning agility and openness to feedback.
• Familiarity with Git, cloud-native concepts, and Agile development.
• Ability to work under guidance within established engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Own Engineering Delivery by completing well-defined engineering tasks under guidance.
• Apply software engineering fundamentals while learning team technologies.
• Demonstrate curiosity, seek coaching, and apply new knowledge quickly.
• Use AI-enabled tooling and agentic AI patterns under supervision.
• Align engineering work with product goals, client needs and business value.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate across engineers, PMs, architects, and designers.
