Job summary

Tetra Tech is offering Civil, Environmental, and Transportation Internships in Houston to support Municipal and Transportation teams on public infrastructure projects. You will gain hands-on experience across water/wastewater, environmental permitting, and transportation work, with duties spanning planning to field activities.

You will work alongside engineers and project managers, developing design documents, performing calculations, and learning CAD/Civil 3D workflows.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• Junior or senior standing preferred.
• Interest in municipal infrastructure, water/wastewater, environmental, or transportation engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS or similar software preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, and permitting of civil, environmental, municipal, water/wastewater, and transportation projects.
• Assist with engineering calculations, analyses, and technical evaluations under supervision.
• Prepare engineering reports, technical memoranda, and supporting documentation.
• Support development of construction drawings, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Assist with CAD and design tasks using AutoCAD Civil 3D or other software.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, project managers, and other disciplines.
• Participate in project meetings, field visits, and site investigations as needed.
• Adhere to engineering standards, project requirements, and quality procedures.
