Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking an Engineering/Manufacturing Intern in Sparks, NV to support project engineering with new product development, product updates and cost-out initiatives. This internship offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and exposure to a formal project process.

You will work with engineers to plan and execute development activities, assist with ECNs, and report progress to project leads.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; must be enrolled in college.
  • Pursuing Mechanical Engineering degree with at least one year of study.
  • Strong CAD skills using SolidWorks, AutoCAD or DraftSight.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of PDM, FEA and inventory software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute new product development projects.
  • Implement product updates and execute ECNs.
  • Collaborate with engineers and staff to maximize project success.
  • Report progress and issues to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Follow commercialization process to develop high-impact products.
  • Analyze problems, define statements, and create viable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for each product.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
