Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks interns to support engineering teams in Wesley Chapel, FL. You will gain hands-on experience with SEL processes, test new technologies, and document results while learning SEL values and manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

  • Experience in programming and scripting.
  • Practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems.
  • Working knowledge of emulators and logic analyzers.
  • Ability to use Windows and serial port terminal emulation software.
  • Familiarity with SEL protective relays and automation controllers.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Visio.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team.
  • Background check satisfactory; negative drug test.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical support to SEL staff & customers.
  2. Develop and maintain knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
  3. Perform testing on new and existing technology.
  4. Document and communicate test results.
  5. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
  6. Understand. Create. Simplify.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in programming and script files

  • Ability to use MS Windows and serial port terminal emulation software
