Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks a Firmware Engineer to design, implement, and test firmware for embedded systems. You will collaborate with hardware engineers, develop design/test documentation, and grow knowledge of SEL processes and products.

Participate in the design, implementation, and test of firmware/software systems. Understand hardware and software interactions, and collaborate with Hardware Engineers. Participate in the development of designs and test documentation. Develop knowledge of SEL engineering processes. Develop knowledge of SEL products and technology. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
One of the following: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent Knowledge in embedded systems firmware development including: C++ and assembly languages, Real-time firmware design Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Other programming languages, including: C, Python, other scripting languages Experience with debuggers Industrial controls 3-phase electric power systems Modern communications protocols Digital and analog circuitry Digital communications and signal processing Project management

Pay Range Data: $84,200 - $124,500 We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job and responsibility. We base our starting pay offer and title on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
