Job summary

The Society of Exploration Geophysicists seeks an Engineering Geologist Associate to perform professional geological investigations for infrastructure design and construction. You will map geology, classify samples, and evaluate groundwater and geologic hazards at sites.

Responsibilities include applying geological standards to environmental aspects and contamination cleanup, with degree requirements and licensing noted in the qualifications. California licensure paths exist.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in geology or engineering geology.
  • DMV Class C license is required at appointment.
  • Knowledge of geological surveying, mapping and CAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct professional engineering geological investigations for design and construction of infrastructure.
  • Make precise geological maps and classify rock and soil samples.
  • Assess groundwater, hydrogeology, and geologic hazards related to sites.
  • Apply geological and hydrogeological standards to environmental aspects and contamination cleanup.
