Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority seeks an experienced engineering leader to serve as Chief of the Engineering Division of CPRA. The role directs a multidisciplinary team, overseeing planning, design, construction and long-term engineering management of multi‑million-dollar projects, balancing environmental, economic and social factors for Louisiana’s coast.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current professional engineer license in Louisiana or be eligible to obtain licensure; license transfer allowed from other states.
• Two years of supervisory-level experience or higher required.
• Experience substitutions: master’s degree substitutes for one year, doctorate substitutes for two years; maximum two years substitute.
• No substitution for licensed engineering experience. Licensed engineers from other states may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and oversight of CPRA’s engineering program, directing a multidisciplinary staff of 20-23 professionals and contractors on multi‑million-dollar projects.
• Oversees design, deliverables, budgets, schedules, and compliance with regulations.
• Coordinates with federal, state, and local agencies and contractors to ensure contract performance and regulatory compliance.
• Leads development and evaluation of engineering proposals and negotiates consultant costs; acts as Contract Manager for IDIQ contracts.
• Represents CPRA as senior engineering advisor for coastal restoration planning and design, coordinating with partners on risk and cost‑effectiveness.
