Job summary

Citi is seeking an Engineering Director to lead the Data & AI portfolio within TWCS Technology. You will define and execute the technology roadmap, oversee scalable data infrastructure, and guide high-performing engineers to deliver with velocity and quality.

The role requires extensive data engineering and AI delivery expertise, strong leadership, and collaboration with senior business and technology partners to drive strategic outcomes.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and technology leadership.
• 8-10+ years of direct managerial and people leadership experience.
• Deep expertise in building Data Engineering, Data Analytics, AI Engineering and Transaction processing systems at scale.
• Extensive experience with financial products and payment systems.
• Expertise in code review and technical quality assurance across Java, Microservices, Distributed systems and Kafka, Cloud-native development, API design.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple teams and personnel duties while ensuring best practices.
• Define team vision and align structure for maximum impact.
• Present regular reviews to senior management and business leaders.
• Drive system architecture design and development, ensuring quality.
