Job summary

Kanthal, a world-leading brand in industrial heating technology, is seeking an Engineering & Development Manager in Concord, North Carolina. You will lead engineering, technical development, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen manufacturing performance, product development, and process reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Proven experience leading engineering, manufacturing, or product development.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, ERP, CAD, data analysis, or automation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and development to support safe, compliant, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations.
• Drive process improvement, equipment development, technical problem-solving, and manufacturing optimization.
• Partner with production, maintenance, quality, QEHS, planning, purchasing, sales, and global engineering resources.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to engineering teams while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Support new product development, process changes, equipment upgrades, and capital projects from concept to implementation.
• Use data and root-cause analysis to identify issues, reduce variation, and improve performance.
• Ensure engineering practices align with standards, safety, quality systems, and company policies.
• Contribute to site strategy, investment planning, and long-term technical capability development.
• Promote safety, innovation, inclusion, and sustainable performance across the org.
