Job summary

Kanthal Concord, NC is seeking an Engineering & Development Manager to lead engineering, development, and continuous improvement initiatives that support safe, reliable manufacturing operations. You will partner with operations, quality, maintenance, planning, sales, and global teams to translate business needs into practical engineering solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related field.
Proven experience in engineering, manufacturing, product development, process development, or related industrial environment.
Leadership experience coaching and developing technical professionals.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment reliability, process improvement, project management, and problem-solving tools.
Experience leading cross-functional projects, capital initiatives or continuous improvement activities.
Strong communication and collaboration across functions and levels.
Safety-first mindset balancing technical excellence with operational needs.
Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, ERP, CAD, data analysis or industrial automation preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering and development activities supporting safe, compliant, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations.
Drive process improvement, equipment development, technical problem-solving, and manufacturing optimization.
Partner with production, maintenance, quality, QEHS, planning, purchasing, sales, and global engineering resources.
Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to engineering teams while fostering accountability and collaboration.
Support new product development, process changes, equipment upgrades, capital projects, and technology transfer from concept through implementation.
Use data analysis and engineering methods to identify root causes, reduce variation, and improve performance.
Ensure practices align with internal standards, regulatory requirements, safety, quality systems, and Alleima policies.
Contribute to site strategy, investment planning, resource prioritization, and long-term technical capability development.
Promote safety, innovation, inclusion, learning, and sustainable performance across the organization.
