Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in Chandler, AZ, is hiring an Engineering Designer – Level 3/4 in the Mechanical Engineering group of the Launch Vehicles Business Unit.

You will create and review drawing packages, ensure conformance to ASME and military standards, and coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, and other engineering disciplines. The role requires DoD Secret clearance eligibility, experience with Siemens NX 1946 and Teamcenter, and strong knowledge of GD&T and weld design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in engineering with relevant design experience.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.
• Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Experience with weld design per AWS D17.1 and D1.1.
• Proficiency with Siemens NX 1946 and Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

• Create drawing/design packages with content compliant to industry and military standards.
• Review designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and economy of fabrication.
• Review tolerance analysis, hardware selection, and fitment on assembly prints.
• Resolve interpretation issues on drawings and verify 3D models in manufacturing.
