Job summary

Aegis Worldwide is seeking an experienced Engineering / Design Manager to lead a team of Design Engineers and oversee the design and development of manufacturing equipment and tooling. This role combines people leadership with hands-on engineering to ensure designs meet production needs and operator usability.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical design and machine/equipment design background.
• SolidWorks experience is required.
• Experience leading or managing Design/Mechanical Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and provide technical direction to a team of 4 Design Engineers.
• Oversee mechanical design projects from concept through completion.
• Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Design and develop machinery, tooling, fixtures, and/or manufacturing equipment.
• Ensure designs are practical for machine operation, production, maintenance, and operator interaction.
• Work closely with manufacturing, production, and other departments to resolve design and equipment issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment functionality, reliability, safety, and ease of use.
• Manage engineering priorities, timelines, and project workloads.
• Remain hands‑on technically when needed and assist the team with complex design challenges.
