Job summary

The County of Yuba is seeking a Deputy Director of Public Works - Engineering to lead the engineering functions within the Public Works division of the Community Development & Services Agency.

Under administrative direction, the incumbent assists the Public Works Director in planning, organizing and administering the department’s engineering activities including CIP, design and land development; provides expert professional support to county management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
• Five years of professional experience in design/construction of roads, bridges and related facilities with supervisory experience.
• Master’s degree and additional management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Public Works Director in planning, organizing and administering engineering functions.
• Oversee Capital Improvement Program, project design and land development efforts.
• Provide expert professional assistance to County management in areas of expertise.
• Prepare requests for proposals, grant applications and other budget documents.
• Manage team to meet goals, budgets and deadlines.
