Job summary

The City of Chico is seeking one experienced Development Engineer with proven leadership abilities to help shape the scape of the City. The Senior Development Engineer plans, schedules, assigns, reviews, and supervises staff performing engineering work in the design, investigation, construction, and plan review of public works and private development facilities.

Experience supervising staff including performance evaluation and training.
Strong knowledge of civil/structural engineering applications to public works.
Ability to manage budgets, contracts, and interagency coordination.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, and reviews staff and consultants in design and plan review.
Develops goals and procedures; implements standard operating procedures.
Monitors unit activities; recommends process improvements and coordinates with other divisions.
Represents the City in meetings with agencies, contractors, and the public.
Ensures safety rules and documentation of operations are maintained.
