Job summary

The County of Yuba is recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer for the Public Works Division of the Community Development and Services Agency. Under limited supervision, the role performs difficult civil design work, field inspections, and project analysis, with leadership over staff and consultants.

Ideal candidates will know modeling, calculation, databases, mapping, and CAD tools, and possess the ability to train others and manage complex projects while ensuring compliance and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying or related field with four years of professional engineering experience.
• Registration as Civil Engineer in California; ability to obtain a CA Class C driver’s license within ten days.
• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and public agency lead experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil design plans for Public Works projects.
• Conduct research studies, field inspections and testing, and analyze reports.
• Provide lead direction and technical assistance to staff and project management.
• Serve as a resource to contracts, consultants, other agencies and the public.
