Job summary

HNTB Corporation seeks an experienced technical/discipline leader to head a professional department responsible for design, development and delivery of engineering tasks. You will manage scope, budget and quality, and oversee staffing across multiple teams to ensure client satisfaction.

The role emphasizes technical coaching, staff development and collaboration with other offices, while pursuing SSA, SDA and contracting objectives to win and execute projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 10 years of practical experience including 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering (preferred)
• 12 years practical experience (preferred)
• 4 years supervisory experience (preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification (preferred)
• AICP certification (preferred)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Develops, monitors and manages the department's operating budget in support of the group or office operating budget and forecast updates.
• Responsible for the management, growth and professional development of discipline-specific engineering department.
• Coordinates department activities, establishes priorities and assigns staff to projects.
• Leads multiple teams including direct and indirect supervision of 15–20+ employees.
• Manages assigned project management activities including scope, schedule, budget and quality management.
