Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an Engineering Configuration Management Specialist to support product definition, BOM management, and documentation for complex equipment. The role focuses on EBOM/MBOM creation, ERP transfers, and cross-functional collaboration to meet project requirements.

You will ensure accurate configurations, participate in change control, and support Lean initiatives while delivering quality data across engineering and manufacturing teams in a hybrid Schenectady environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• Experience with product definition development, Bill of Materials management, or configuration management.
• Familiarity with project scope management, project scheduling, or field installation processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage detailed technical information.
• Commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs) and Unit Bills of Materials throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the transfer of MBOMs into ERP systems.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to transition project scope and configuration information following order release.
• Verify product configuration options and resolve discrepancies with engineering and configuration management teams.
• Support preliminary BOM reviews and validate standard parts against established configuration rules.
• Monitor BOM accuracy and address documentation or timing issues with manufacturing and sourcing teams.
• Participate in engineering change management and configuration control processes.
• Collaborate across departments to improve workflows, support Lean initiatives, and maintain product definition quality.
• Ensure configuration activities follow established procedures, processes, and contractual requirements.
