Job summary

Arthrex, Inc. in Naples, FL is seeking a student engineer to join the Upper Extremity team as a Product Development Co-op. You will assist in designing and testing prototypes, supporting design controls, and contributing to feasibility and remediation efforts.

This co-op runs January 2027–June 2027, with a 40-hour work week at our Naples, FL facility. Enrolled full-time in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, you will gain hands-on CAD (SolidWorks) and tolerance analysis experience.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering; junior or above, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred.
• Recent graduates must be within six months of graduation date to qualify.

Responsibilities

• Create verification/feasibility test protocols.
• Run, review and print tolerance analysis.
• Assist with CAD design and/or modification.
• Perform feasibility testing.
• Support/lead cadaveric lab work.
• Other duties as assigned.

Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively searching for a student pursuing an engineering degree to support the Upper Extremity team in Naples, FL. The Upper Extremity Engineering team is responsible for supporting new product development and sustaining engineering for upper extremity products. The successful candidate will design and test prototypes, support design control activities such as requirements management, risk management and verification and validation development and execution. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner. This co-op will run from January 2027 – June 2027. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Main Objective:

Assist Upper Extremity engineering with feasibility, new product development, and remediation projects, including design and documentation work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create verification/feasibility test protocols.

Education and Experience:

• Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree engineering, or a recent graduate required. Junior or above, studying Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred.
  (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Experience with CAD (SolidWorks) preferred.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
