Arthrex, Inc. in Naples, FL, is seeking a Engineering Co-op for the SPEAR team focused on patient-specific planning and surgical technologies. The role supports design, testing, validation, data analysis, and documentation throughout the medical device development lifecycle.

The 2027 January–June program offers 40 hours per week at our Naples facility. Ideal candidates are enrolled undergrad engineers (Biomedical or Mechanical preferred) with interest in 3D printing and CAD tooling.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as full-time junior/senior pursuing a bachelor’s in engineering; biomedical or mechanical preferred.
• Availability January 2027 – June 2027; 40 hours/week.
• Prior experience with 3D printing preferred.
• CAD software knowledge (SolidWorks/NX) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research use cases and design basic frame shapes; create 3D print examples for bone model fit testing.
• Run post-op cadaver lab segmentation and analyze data.
• Review workflow instructions and support surgical planning efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Arthrex is actively searching for a student pursuing an engineering degree to support the Surgical Planning, Execution, and Anatomic Restoration (SPEAR) team in Naples, FL. The SPEAR team is responsible for developing innovative patient-specific planning and surgical technologies that enhance procedural accuracy and clinical outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to support product development, testing, validation, and process improvement activities. The individual will assist with data analysis, design verification activities, documentation, and technical investigations while gaining exposure to the medical device development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of communicating results, observations, and issues in a timely and professional manner. This co-op will run from January 2027 – June 2027. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Main Objective:

To support our SPEAR team by assisting with design, testing, validation, data analysis, and documentation activities that enable the development and commercialization of innovative patient-specific surgical planning and execution solutions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Research use cases, design basic frame shapes and 3D print examples to test fit to bone models.
• Run post-op cadaver lab specimen segmentation and run analysis on data.
• Review workflow instructions.
• Support surgical planning efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Enrolled as a full-time junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a recent graduate required. Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)
• Prior experience in 3D printing preferred.
• Prior experience in software macro creation and automation preferred

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

• Basic to intermediate computer skills. Be able to follow written and verbal direction.
• Knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks and/or NX) preferred.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
