Job summary

Arthrex, Inc. seeks two co-op students in Naples, FL to support the Imaging and Resection (I&R) Team on electromechanical design of Trident Console and Synergy Power devices. You will design parts, test fixtures, and performance testing while supporting R&D manufacturing considerations.

Applicants must be pursuing Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering degrees and be available to work 40 hours per week at the Naples facility from January 2027 through June 2027.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Junior or above preferred; recent graduates within six months of graduation qualify.
• Coursework in electronics and software programming preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering design staff on development projects for electromechanical devices.

• Support console reliability and dependability testing.
• Continue operation and data management for product testing.

Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively searching for two students, pursuing an engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering to join the Imaging and Resection (I&R) Team in Naples, FL. The selected students will support the engineering design staff on development projects including electromechanical design of Trident Console and Synergy Power devices. Responsibilities will include designing parts and assemblies, performing design characterization and feasibility testing, constructing test fixtures and measurement methods to quantify performance and reliability of devices in benchtop setting, and evaluate options for R&D manufacturing methods for cost saving solutions on new and existing product designs. This co-op will run from January 2027 – June 2027. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Main Objective:

To support engineering design staff on development projects for electromechanical devices (capital and disposables, systems, test apparatus and test methods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support various product development and prototyping across the I&R portfolio, including new and existing devices/accessories.
• Develop mechanical, electrical, programmable fixtures, test jigs, and test methods.
• Support console reliability and dependability testing.
• Continue operation and data management for product testing.
• Assemble, debug, and evaluate (test) engineering prototypes.
• Support R&D project investigations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a recent Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering graduate, required. Junior or above preferred.
  (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)
• Having completed coursework in electronics and software programming preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

• Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing and possess the ability to work through technical issues.
• Prior experience with tools/platforms: Minitab, ECAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB/Simulink and/or Python preferred.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel.
